How West London inspires the design of my local area art prints

One of my favourite parts of being a designer is celebrating the places that mean something to people. Whether it's where you grew up, where you fell in love, or simply the postcode you proudly call home – local areas have a powerful way of holding memories. That’s exactly what inspired me to start designing my West London Prints.

A love letter to local life
I live and work in Ealing, West London, and it’s always been a huge source of inspiration. From the beautiful green parks to the bustling broadway, there's a creative energy here that’s hard to explain but easy to feel. I started sketching local landmarks, adding nods to everyday sights and special spots – and before I knew it, I had a growing collection of prints that people started recognising and connecting with.

What makes a local print?
Each print is designed to reflect the spirit of a neighbourhood. It could be a local park, a well-loved high street, or even a feeling – like the buzz of a Sunday morning coffee run or the quiet calm of a leafy lane. I mix hand-drawn elements with bold, retro-inspired graphics and type to create something that feels modern, but still full of character. And the best bit? They're personal. Every postcode has its own story, and I love helping people capture that in a piece of art.
Why people love them
These prints make brilliant gifts – especially for birthdays, housewarmings, or those moments when someone moves away and wants to take a little piece of home with them. I’ve had customers commission prints for weddings, anniversaries, and even as leaving presents for colleagues. Because they’re customisable, you can add names, dates or personal messages to make them truly one-of-a-kind.

West London and beyond
While I started with areas close to home – like Ealing, Acton, Hanwell and Chiswick – the collection has grown thanks to customer requests. I’ve now designed prints for places all over London, from Columbia Road to Covent Garden. Each one starts with a conversation, and I love hearing what makes your local area special.
